'06 Auto - Shifting observation

I've had this happen intermittently 3 or 4 times in the 7700 miles I've owned this truck.

On part throttle, going around a corner or not, the computer will allow the engine to rev to ~3400rpm, then shift, into what I think is 3rd. It's kinda hard to focus on RPM in traffic . The computer is definately defueling the motor. And, this is part throttle; I've never had my foot in it what this happens. The shift should certainly come sooner...

Anyone experience this?

I'm adding this to my list of things that need fixed: PRND21 still off.

Shift indicator is off, eh?

You're not bouncing out of D into N are ya?

Usually only happens off-roading...

No...it's definately in gear; you can tell (and see) the RPMs keep climbing but no power, until the trans shifts, then normal operation returns.

Thanks!

Have you checked your transmission fluid level when hot and in neutral. Sounds to me like it could be low.

I had that thought, this morning. I have not checked it, since I installed the mass diesel line & the temp sender.

thanks!

Mine has done the same thing a couple of times. I pull away from a stop light, a little more than 1/2 throttle, and the rpms go to 3400-3500 before the thing shifts out of first gear! No rhyme or reason to it. I'm gonna talk to the dealer next time I'm there.
