04 reflash

I have heard that you can get better fuel milage by having the computer reflashed. I get about 18 to 20 mpg at about 65 mph empty. I guess that's ok I would like better. I have about 15000 miles on it, and it's an auto trans. Has anyone heard of getting worse milage after the reflash? 04 model. My truck is listed as one that can have the reflash done.

I dont trust the trip computer. I have had both the tsb flashes done and while it did increase the trip,my hand calculated mpg remains the same. I get between 16-18 mpg . Towing a 7500lb trailer I get 12-13 mpg. I am very happy with this mpg, coming from a 5-6 mpg gasser while towing. A lot depends on your driving habits and rear gearing, I have the 4:10

I've had mixed results on the update, but nobody has ever complained of worse MPG. I would update it.

It did actually help my mileage with the update, but I was getting like 13 MPG before the update.

My truck aslo falls in the engine numbers and date that for the update and I am getting pretty poor milage 17's empty and 10-11 pulling 6000lb + TT. My trip meter milage is within .5 miles per gallon. I am going to look at having it done. Do we have to pay for this update?
