04 305/555 won't start
I picked up some bad fuel (water) the other day. Truck ran for 200 feet after fueling then stopped. After reading some threads, I dropped and drained the fuel tank & changed the fuel filter. The truck cranks over, but won't start. Grid heaters cycle as well, as they should. I tried cranking the engine for 3-4 seconds, then leaving the key in the run position to prime the fuel system.......problem is that I don't hear the transfer pump working at all during this time. The water in fuel trouble code 2269 is present when I check. Any advice on what I should do next would be appreciated.
just what the doctor ordered... : http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo....UMP_FPD4089602
if the truck does not pump fuel on its own with the fuel filter top loose, ya need one of them, no other mods needed. Instal, loosen fuel filter lid, turn key to run, watch for fuel, if none after 20 seconds, key off pause, key back to run, watch for fuel. see fuel ? tighten filter top, key to run for ten seconds, start truck.

Thanks for the advice. Turns out I tapped the transfer pump with a wrench after cranking the engine for a couple of seconds and it started working again. Then I heard fuel dripping on the garage floor. I'm not a mechanic, so please bear with me......the injection pump has two (roughly 1 inch diameter) holes in it, which I am assuming had some sort of covers on them. These covers are not there, and the fuel is leaking out of the hole on the underside of the pump. Is my injection pump toast? Is there a rebuild kit for these? I don't know how to reset p codes, do they have to be reset for the truck to eventually work? There's a new one that just showed up....p0628.

Based on your mileage, you are still under warranty. My lift pump started leaking and I had fuel leaking from the pump all the way to the CP3 and to the back of the cab coming down the fuel lines. Took it in to the dealer and the engine mounted pump was replaced with the in-tank pump, and that took care of all the leaks. There was no charge for this, and it only took them a couple of hours. I didn't have any codes, but the 0628 code is a dead lift pump code.
