and the ecm is same year and manual but some of the numebrs are different. the pn# is the same but the rest are different. as long as its got 4 door power everything and 4x4 it should work right?

 

any other thoughts? a week later now and still havent figured it out, i talked to a few diesel mechanics and none can figure it out. sgotta wait till tuesday to get the ecm flashed at the dealer. hoping that will at least fix my issue that the programmer wont install. well installs but when you drive it its just not there.

hooked up a autometer fuel rail pressure gauge since no scanner will show it on my 03. dont ask why but none will, the superchip, my actron wont and my buddys brand new matco one wont either. anyways what is the fuel rail pressure supposed to be when cranking? and at an idle?

 

Engine ECMs are coded to the body control module so if you replace the ECM you have to get it programmed to the truck by the dealer or somebody with the right equipment.

Do you know anyone with a Smarty? You could try having them restore the factory programming.
