Friend of mine has a 03 he just got,, does the 03 "dirty" the oil like my 07? He was asking about the oil looking black, not that many miles on the current oil, told him I thought the 03 and early 04 didn't do that, but I really don't know, seems like thats what I read on here.

I think it is the 05 models and up due to a different fuel injection sequence and event. Tends to soot up the oil after about 500-1000 miles after oil change. As for mine, an 03' my oil stays fairly clean for at least 5-6k miles.

Yep, what he said...
Mine stays clean to the sight and also smell (Rotella T) for at least 5-8K miles.
If I'm pulling hard for a while it gets dirty faster though... but just around town, short empty trips within 200 miles and such and it's clean, even tests clean after 10K miles most of the time.
