03 idling problem solved?
A while back i posted about my 03 dieing after warm up it would stat fine and run good until it warmed up then if i stopped at a light or let off the throttle it would surge or die. I thought it might be a weak lift pump but after reading and talking to a lot of people i bit the bullet and took it to a shop turns out it is the Fuel control actuator in the cp3 $650 to fix what i want to know and the reason im asking is i haven't gotten it back yet is, does this sound right? has anyone had this problem? and they informed me that eventually my injectors will need to be re torqued is this something i can do?
the fca is around $100 from cummins, and forget about the retorquing of the injectors. The fca is not in the cp3 its outside the cp3 and takes 2 minutes to change. Unless they spent 5 hrs diagnosing it then they are ripping u a new one...sorry about being so blunt. It is also covered under your 7yr 100k warranty. u pay $100 deductible. unless your over milage.
no problem with being blunt, as i said i took it down to have them find the problem, I told them that i would fix it just needed to know where to look geuss they figured if they charged me enough which they did i would have them go all the way which i did. Lesson learned (the hard way) wont happen again
