03 Front end alignment
03 Front end alignment
Anybody having problems with your 03 dually wearing tires on the "inside" of front tires? The wear is about 1/4 inch on the inside of the tires.
The truck drives perfect and straight, absolutely no play in steering wheel. I have not hit a big pothole and have never been in any type accident. The truck has been babied and only used occasionally to pull a 5th wheel RV. Truck has never been off road. I have rotated all 6 tires every 6,000 miles at 65psi. Truck still has the factory installed Goodyear Wrangler tires.
I have 41,000 miles on my truck and have had 2 front end alignments in order to correct this. The front end guy stated "It looks like your front coil springs have grown weak (i.e. sagging slightly) and causing the front end to get out of alignment." Anybody heard of this?

There was a batch of 3500's that were shipped with week front coils.
Don't remember what year was involved. I believe the owners were
supposed to be notified but it wouldn't hurt for you to check with
your dealer.
Could be wrong but I think the 2WD models were the ones involved.
Maybe someone with a better memory will chime in.

I think it was the late 03 early 04 3500 2wd trucks that had the coil spring problem. look on the site for the link to the tsb/recall site. For the life of me I can't remember what the name of the site the infos on. But, do a search here and im sure you will find something.
