03 2500 wheel bearings

wheel bearings going out in the front of my 03 2500 4x4 is this a job I can do at home? and are there any special tools required? I noticed when i take a left hand turn im getting a little growl from the passenger side had to use 4wheel drive last week and got a vibration so i'll check the bearings and u joints. If any one can give me a little guidance i would appreciate it thanks.

I think the big nut is 1-11/16 remove the caliper and abs sensor then use the power steering method to remove the bearings if they arent shot the bolts are 19mm i think. if you use a puller you will most likely destroy them. i think it could be the u joints mine were shot but the bearings were fine. do a search this has been discussed in great detail many times b4

The bearings once taken apart and put together again will not last long at all!!!!! Only right way is to replace whole hub

Or look into getting a free spinning hub kit if you can fork out the money, it's the only way to go IMO.

Heres a link to a recent thread. https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=230555
I would not worry yourself about doing the job. Especially knowing your changing it anyway. The hard part of the job is tring to remove the hub without having to replace it. You already know you have to replace it. Just go into it knowing that they will not just fall off.
