The G56 is only available with 3.73's, or 3.42's (08+) in pickups, and 4.10's are an additional option in the C&C 3500 SRW/DRW.

i wish they would upgrade the manual tranny to something made of cast iron again but allas i fear that the manual tranny is slowly fading away.

But then again we can only hope that mopus in their infanite wisdom comes to their senses and just contracts for a good eaton 6 speed, eaton tightens it up some more so it shifts sharper and we get a good tranny finally that will last as long as the motor

otherwise i'll wait and buy the last 6.7 that comes off the line with a manual bring it home, swap in a clutch, a flywheel and one of my nv5600s and live the rest of my life driving what i want when i want with the shifting characteristics that i like and a tranny that lasts 200k + without issues for me

My 5600 shifts like garbage half the time and great the other half, it's got me stumped. It's only got 40k miles on it and I've tried every fluid I can find trying to rid the notchy shifting. It's almost like it has two detents when going into gears sometimes, guessing it's the initial contact of the synchro tooth then bottoming out in it's recess.

Love the power it handles stock (jr. on 3) but hate driving it in town.

Not nearly as easy to manage as an automatic trans. If it were so we wouldn't see people blowing the clutches out of g-56 tranny's below 10k miles from lugging grades with heavy trailers. Also peak torque and hp is less on the manual equipped trucks from the get-go. Higher job rating will always have the auto trans listed.

It's based on speed with manuals not what gear you are in... Managed differently, but with similar end result.
