My 95 3500 dash was in many pieces when I bought the truck. I patched it back together with fiberglass mat and ABS plumbing glue, then covered with a cheap carpet mat from RockAuto.com .

Type of Glue to half *** repair dash?
Hello, not sure if the cheap plastic is ABS plastic or not, What type of glue repairs have any of you used. Mine is so bad there is not much left but i kept most of the pieces over the years and need to do something soon.

1999 Dodge cracked as h^&** So I replaced it with a glue-on ABS color-coded dash cap from LMC Truck out of Lenexa, Kansas (162.00 plus tx.). Wasn't too bad on the install, need a lot more silicone than what they give you and a real decent brand of tape to hold in place while glue dries. Good fit, PIA even when it's not 4 in the morning.

This is really the never ending thread. I've about had it w/my dash and plastic cover. It cracked around 100k so I bought the plastic 1 piece dash cover. The cover fits well but doesn't do a thing for support or the noise. The %^&*@! makes so much %$&*! noise going down the hwy its ridiculious. Crap construction to begin with. I think the dash issue and cheap paint s/b filed under a class suit. Any atty on here have opinions on this for us? thanks.

I ripped my entire dash out two weeks ago to fix this cracked dash top problem. It took several hours working after work to complete this over a weeks time.
Be aware that all the pieces and parts that you could break may no longer be available from Dodge. I have spent what could be hours calling dealerships to find certain parts that are just either no longer made or they cant get them for me. It has been frustrating.
The cable connector that leads to the heater core/evaporator mixer can snap. As can a bunch of other little plastics thingys all throughout the job. All of the foam gasketing that seals the air ducts was rotten and had to be replaced as well.
Get some friction tape to use between all the plastic pieces to prevent rattles and squeeks. The factory uses this as well, but not enough and not in enough places. I used it under all screws and snap connectors anywhere a plastic pieces joined another plastic piece. I cracked the clear jewel that fits over the gauges. That is a 130.00 dollar piece!!!!!!! Dont break the covers that go around the steering column. Of the 4 pieces, only 3 are currently available and who knows when they wont be either.
The whole ordeal pretty much ticked me enough to consider never buying another Dodge for my personal vehicle. I have cars that are 20+ years old and all the parts are still available. The cheap construction and the design was very disappointing. They did not even paint any of the metal parts that are part of the dash. They were all rusted. It is just cheesy. Maybe I am expecting too much and should just shut up and enjoy driving it??
