YIPPEEEE, I got my first Dodge truck...

I've been learning a lot about trucks on this forum the last few months as I started searching for my first Dodge. After learning about the 1998 12 valve trucks as sort of being the best of both worlds I thought "sounds cool but I'll never find one". The next day there was one on ebay and only about 3-1/2 hours away from where I live. There was one other guy that wanted it almost as bad as me. I paid a bit of a premium but I ended up with the truck. It is extremely clean and straight. It's pretty much equipped just the way I wanted.

1998 12 valve 2500 4x4 quad cab long bed, auto, 3.54, 305/70-16, Westin nerfs, GoRhino brush guard, Banks Stinger Plus, gauges

KDP probably has not been done. Previous owner wasn't aware of the issue. He also didn't know the '98 12 valve was regarded as a somewhat rare or special truck and stated in the auction that he had a FOR SALE sign in the window and would end the auction if it sold locally for $9995. He got a bunch of phone calls, myself included, asking where to send the money. He wisely decided to let the auction run it's course. Winning bid, mine, was $14,999.99.

I love the truck and look forward to hangin' out with you folks...

Nice truck! You didn't overpay if it was well maintained mechanically. It looks well maintained on the outside. Have fun, Kurt

Nice looking truck and welcome. Sounds like you got the fever even before you had the truck. The only down side is that most everyone that catches the bug never gets over it. Have a ball.

Nice truck! And owned by someone who cared about it's looks and probably it's maintenance.

My opinion--when you purchase a truck (or anything else, for that matter) that is used from the owner, you have the opportunity to get more/ better/more accurate details of the item, it's use, it's maintenance, reason for selling, etc to give you better buying decisions. This information can allow you to pay more for an item then the guy who doesn't inquire. If the truck does for you what you want the price doesn't matter!!

Those are great trucks. You can't beat those 12 valve for dependability and less electronics to go wrong. The P pump they have is a great pump. Adding enhancements is like an addiction.
