wiring harness to computer

Does anyone have any experience in improving or tighten up the socket on the female part of the harness that plugs in to the computer. I think that is part of my problem on my 95 electrical problems . NO tack some times works after I shake the harness a bit or move the block a smidgen , along with ac overdrive ect . I pulled the harness and took some air an blew it out . That made the tack work and ac but the overdrive button would work a couple of times . light up and go off when pushed . A bump in the road and I loose cruse and overdrive, ac thanks jim

If I'm thinking of the correct plug, doesn't it snap or lock in place with little plastic clips? Once in place, I'm not sure how it would loose connection. One thing I would do which may be a part of your elec issue is clean every ground you can find. Ground issues have been known to cause many problems....ie shifting, trans, converter lockup. At least you eliminate this as a potential cause. Good luck

Might want to ck connections leading away from that main plug as well....tracing it back to each component that is causing issues. You may find a short along the way.

I worked on a buddy's truck that was doing the same thing. Wiggle the pcm connection and everything worked, hit a bump everything quits.

Did everything I could to make sure connection was tight and clean, even changed PCM plug, (soldering all those wires was a pain) and VSS sensor. Still had problem.

Turned out the connections inside the pcm had cracked? (It was in an accident)

Only way I realized it was the pcm was I put mine in his truck and everything worked as it should. Bought replacement and no problem since.

If it's just those symptoms it could be the rear pumpkin sensor. At least that's what it was on mine.
ABS light on, tach no workie, speedo no workie, but only sometimes. When it finally crapped the bed for good I was able to trace it back. For the life of me I can't figure why the tach would have been in that loop but when I replaced that sensor everything went back to normal.
