Why do I smell mildew when I turn on the A/C?
I put the heater hose on the evap drain last weekend. I will try the enema deal, too. I did not know about the vent position to help keep things dry, but I will start doing that. Does anyone know why the compressor cycles in the vent position?
Shouldn't cycle in the vent only position.
It will cycle in floor/vent, defrost (and any variant of defrost) and any A/C position (of course).
The only ones it shouldn't cycle in are vent only, and floor only.

As Phox said.. the only non compressor positions are the floor only and the upper vent only.. the Bi position runs the compressor..
I'd never even think about install the sealer in an AC systems.. Many places have had to buy testers to test for the stuff.. It can knock out a recovery/recycle machine in a heart beat.. Most of those sealers react to air.. (or moisture.) if you have a leak it seaps out contacts the air.. and hardens.. Ok.. so you fixed the leak... but Next time you open the system.. you got a real mess...
Use the dyes to find the leak.. and fix it.. You'll be happier... just adding some refigerant.. until you can fix it right..
Good Luck..
