Wheel off set and back spacing

So, after much reading on here I have come up with the following:
16in wheel preferred backspacing 5-5.5in
17in wheel preferred backspacing 6in
What is the factory off set and backspacing ?
What is the preferred off set and back spacing for 16in and 17in wheels? Might be interested in doing a brake upgrade to the larger disk, (03-newer)?
I have a 2000 2500 4x4 sport.

Someone's got to know at least what the factory off set and back spacing is?

How about which of the following would be desired?
A: Back spacing 5.47"
Off set -12mm
B: Back spacing 4.5"
Off set -12mm
C: Back spacing 5.71"
Off set +18mm
All for a 17x9 wheel.

Those numbers don't make sense for a 9" wheel, since back spacing and offset are just different ways of measuring the same thing, position of the WMS.
