Exclamation whch tire LT235/85s or LT265/75s in load range E

I am going to need tires soon I am considering Michelin LTX A/T2’s. I use my truck for recreational use to tow a small fifth wheel and dingy tow either a small trailer behind the fifth wheel with a 4 wheeler in it when hunting or a 17 foot bass boat when I get to go fishing
0r I pull a small cattle trailer with no more than 4 calves a couple times a year or load the bed with a ton of feed every so often. I do not do any long distance towing.
LT235/85s or LT265/75s in load range E have same nominal height, about 31"
And there is only 1 revolution per mile difference traveling down the road (i.e. 656 vs. 657).
other than price is there any reason that should I use one size over the other.

If Your pulling a fifth wheel just be careful that the bigger tires don't mess with how you get under the trailer. it did to me and I had to flip the axles on the trailer which needed to be done anyway.

I believe one size is a little wider than the other.

The wider one will have more sidewall lateral rollout on the stock 8" wide wheel than the narrower one, but probably not much.

I am running 245/75 16E on stock wheels. I think the tire is rated for a 6.5 to 8" rim not sure. Never had a problem towing 5er or hauling the TC. This tire is rated at 3042lbs at 80lbs air the 265 is rated about 400lbs more I believe

I like the 235/85's because they are skinny and cut thru snow and water better.

On soft ground though, they sink like a stone.

The 235/85s will also get better MPG than the 265/75s. (less rolling resistance).
