what years will exchange on my 97's mirrors?

Need to replace both my mirrors on my 97. currently have the chrome power mirrors. I want flip out towing mirrors and have read can't get those in power unless swap out guts from newer vintage mirrors into them which is no big deal either way, but everything I see the mirrors fit 94-97 then 98-02. Is there a big difference from the -97s to the +98s?

I am not sure but think you can put the newer style black Mickey Mouse mirrors and the flip up towing mirrors on your truck as the doors didn't change from 94-02 2500/3500 at the front pillar mount. Maybe someone that knows for sure will respond. Kool-vue now offers the correct flip up tow mirrors for these trucks w/ the power/heat option. You won't have the heat option but it probably wouldn't be very hard to wire up to a separate switch. The part #'s from kool-vue are dg49er and dg49el for the 2nd gen door style. Do a search on 'power heated tow mirror' and look at the latest threads as these mirrors just became available for 2nd gens. Good luck, Kurt

I have not done the install, but had a talk with Rick about putting the new towing mirrors on, wound up not doing it as the finaces changed, but they do bolt up the same from 94-02, the doors are the same as was mentioned.

I just went with some old stock OEM tip out mirrors from the dealer without power or heat. I don't adjust them enough to be concerned about the power option. The went on slick and came with the plug for the switch hole in the door bezel. I still have the factory chromes and switch on the shelf..

I did a search on here, read some old posts and from what I have read the mirrors will fit on any year second gen. If you want the tow mirrors with power and heat check out the kool vue mirrors like Kurtaing mentioned.

i had the power chrome mirrors for my 97 and i took them off and lost power mirrors and added tow mirrors that are manual, there is no need to adjust them unless you tow alot. and keep flipping them in and out.

As metioned above if you don't mind losing power you can get the manual flip out mirrors, Part# 82206157 they run $230 and change from http://www.wyckoffchryslerparts.com/

Here is an artical about them, http://www.towrig.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2962
