warranty question
warranty question
Just wondering what the factory warranties were for the 2002 2001 were. The reason I ask is because i'm a fool and couldn't google it. I thought that in 2003-2005 had a 100,000 mile powertrain warranty on them. I'm looking to buy used and not too soon but I'm trying to be patient and wait for the "right" one. Sorry if this is a easily found answer.
Thanks,
Evan

Every Cummins has 100,000 on the engine.
Every Dodge has 3 yr/36,000 mile bumper to bumper.
All I know for sure is that my 2002 purchased on March 1, 2002 has a 7 yr/100,000 mile powertrain.
2001's and early purchased 2002's had a 5 year/50,000 mile(?) powertrain.

This warranty thing is confusing me. My '02 delivered in April of '02 doesn't have the 7/100k powertrain warranty. It has the 5/100k Cummins warranty and various emission and corrosion warranties but the rest of the vehicle was only covered for 3/36k. I have heard that Dodge changed to 7/70k in mid '02 and thought my truck was just too old but now Phox says his March '02 truck has it. What gives? Does anyone know when the warranties changed. Hopefully this is all just a learning exercise and I'll never need to use the warranty.
