Truck worth it?

I'm selling my 08 jeep unlimited rubicon to get another dodge pickup. I've only had the jeep for 5 months and have the cummins bug again. I'm looking at a 2002 with 70k miles, quad cab short bed. Based on VIN, it was built at the Lago Alberto plant in Mexico City. I think it can be mine for $15,000. I spoke with previous owner and he replaced LP and IP not long ago. Completely stock, no gauges (previous sentence makes that obvious), stock exhaust, etc... What do you think?

Thanks

Too high. I'd stay away from a Vp-44 system and go Common Rail.

I agree it sounds high, remember its a buyers market there is lots of people wanting out from under the payments . Do some more looking and make sure you are happy with what you are buying.

Seems it should be around the 10k mark to me. Local dealer here has a 05 for $14k.

Wow. Some of those numbers surprise me. If I could find an 03/04 with 50k miles or so for $15k, I would crap my pants.

Wow, good luck on getting a 02 with that low mileage for 10k. If you get that 02 for 12k, you got a fair deal. Remember these trucks are 30k new. It is not even broke in. If it was 4x4 then 14k. IMO

I'd say that sounds a bit high (& I'm thinking Canadian peso).
but still, it may be a good truck if you can get the price down.
Check out for the beloved 53 block....

Agreed, 02 with 70k for 10 is gonna be hard...12 is fair, of course cumalong and the rest of us, we have NO clue what the interior or exterior looks like, I have seen some low milage vehicles that have thrased interiors and messed up paint...people just dont care anymore, maybe they dont drive it but when they do the could careless what happens.

Plus 70k with a new LP and IP...could be a bunch of different reasons for that but I would look hard for a chip or the aftermath of one....

I would say if everything lines up, sun, moon, stars...then try 12 and stop at 13....

truth is, IT IS a buyers market, if you can come with cash or pre-approval from a bank...that is what is talking right now...not the BS of "well let me see what my bank says"

NCA

ps..2.5 years ago...I payed 12 flat for my 99 origional owner 120k CLEAN...all stock all origional 2500...strong LP and IP...but i replaced the LP anyways..she is still plumbed incase my Walbro takes a dump...

I spoke with the previous owner (he purchased the truck new) and he said it is bone stock, no straight pipe, no gauges, pulled a skidloader a few times. Problem now is that the dealer won't give me what I want for my jeep rubicon on trade.
