Trackbar questions
My truck has a sloppy trackbar and I want to replace it. I see people doing conversions of the 03+ trackbar, but my question is what is wrong with replacing the stock on with a new "stock" one. What is the benefit of an adjustable trackbar or the 03+ conversion? I don't have a lift nor do I plan to get one so can I just get a new stock trackbar and be good to go?
thanks

problem is usually you waste your money on a stock bar, that being said, if you dont use your truck much or get one that has a lifetime warrantee, you will likely get by.
I went thru 4 track bars in less than a yr, (courior truck) I installed a 3rd gen adjustable bar, at the time the adjustable bar was 50$ more and I had no intentions of lifting my truck, months later I installed a Carli starter system, and was glad I went with the adjusatable bar.
advantage of the 3rd gen bar is the bushings are like 10$ each and last 10x longer than any stock bar ever will. and it removes the slop that is inherent in the orginal design, I've replaced 3rd gen bushings in other courior trucks (around the 250,000kms) on one there was no bushing left and the owner never really noticed he had a steering issue, the 3rd gen bar set up is expensive, but as in my case a better option than stock
I tried the lukes link on my orginal track bar, and had clearance issues, it was too tight to the bottom of the bracket, If I had known about the lindstad repair (see link silver posted) I would have went that route instead, it maybe a better option, depending on your trucks usage and your pocket book

I have lifetime warrantied Napa bar on my own truck and while it wears better than the stock bar if the Lukes Link had been available way back then that's the way I would have gone.
I've installed the Lukes on many trucks and only one developed slop after 75k.
Simple adjustment fixed it.
