I personally like the OEM, dodge has a kit which has special pricing if you can get the local parts man to find it, I think I paid around $300 for mine

I vote for OEM as well.

If do choose the OEM, I've bought them off of ebay and installed 3 sets of them. Only catch is that make sure you get the bracket backer for the door to support the extra weight of the mirror.

Installation is cake.

I'd go with the Kool-vues. They are exact replicas of the stock flip outs, just heated and power for the 2nd gen body style. Plug-n-play if you have the wiring already in your truck.

The CIA s are about $35 each and working OK for occaissional towing. There may be some vibration, but you can certainly see if there ie another vehicle there.'

I have an 01 with the OEM heated and power mirrors. Looking at the kool-vues too... however, not sure what connector is correct. Is the one we need the 6-plug (5-prong) connector or the 8-plug?

Thanks.

get the mopar mirrors. i just got the kool-vues and dont like them at all. if you dont grind a slot for the wires to go threw you will cut the power wires. when flipped up the mirrors arn't straight up and down. im going to contact them about the issues.

Thanks for that report; I'm in the market for some tow mirrors for my '97 now; Its just a work truck, so they don't have to be perfect.

Could you post pics of your mirrors?
Thanks, Billy

Unless they have changed the design or you got the wrong set, the Kool-vues are spot on for the stock Mopar flip outs. There is a wire channel in the frame for them, although when I got mine the wires weren't in them.

Fortunately, I read about this on this site and routed them thru correctly, avoiding pinching them.

Can't complain about mine. IMO the ****'s have the best viewing area and shape, they are just too honkin big for my taste!

Im looking at the kool-vues as well. Ive got the factory tows on mine now but they are manual and constantly out of adjustment. My BD is coming up and wifey says do the dash and mirrors. I guess Ill have to buy a switch also.

I just bought the kool-vues for my 06, and I have to say that I'm very very pleased with their product! Identical to the oem's in my case. For 230 bucks you can't beat them. Everything matched up perfect for me.

i put a set on my 05 truck and was happy with them but not so much with this set. i had to grind a slot for the wire to go threw or i would have cut the wires on the second mirror.
