tire size difference??? HELP?

Alright im not sure if im posting under the right section so i apologize if im not. I am currently running LT285 75R 16 tires on my dodge, it has a 2 inch leveling kit. My question is, what is the difference between my current LT285 75R 16 and an LT295 75 R16? Are they pretty much inter-changable? Can they be run on the same rim? Any help would be great! Thanks again and sorry if i posted this in the wrong section

Here is a link to a calculater of tire sizes. Not a big differencw in the two and you should be fine with the stock rims.

your 285 75 16 is pretty much a 33" tall by 11.5 wide tire, the 295's are a 33.5 tall by 12" wide

285's fit nice. 295's are getting big for the stock rim. 305's are to big for the stock rims and kinda look goofy. Running tires to big for the stock rim will cause strange tire wear.

Depends which stock rims you have. If you have the 01-02 16x8s, you can run 295s all day long on stock rims. You can even go up to 315s on stock 16x8s.

if you have the 16x7.5s, 285 is technically a little too big, but with lower tire pressure you can get away with it. Lotsa guys have run the 285s on the 16x7.5s
