For those with Moog ball joints - how do you get the boot on?
I can't get the boot on my lower ball joints on my 2WD truck. The uppers ball joint boots just kind of slid on, but the lower ones look like they have some kind of metal ring in them that holds the boot in place. Every time I get one side of the boot on, I can't get the other side to give me enough slack to install it since the ring is so stiff. I've tried turning the boot as I press up, using some pliers, etc., but no luck.
Any ideas? Its really holding me up right now because I'm ready to put the steering knuckles back on.

You could use a large socket or pipe about the same size as the OD of the rubber and tap it on with a hammer or you could just assemble everything and the nut will press it into place when you tighten it. I did the later.
I just did mine today and I used one of the cylinders that was in the ball joint press tool kit. I know, I had a hard time, at first it would go all around except for one little spot then I used the cylinder on the boot and that worked.
