Question Theft prevention for our Rams?

Okay my 98 Ram is on the top 10 list for getting stolen here, my alarm/immobilizer buddy is booked solid for 2 weeks I have the club that goes on the brake pedal. What else can I do, can I easily unpug something so it won't start?

on a 2002 24V (others may be the same, I'm not sure) I think it's fuse no 10, 10 A, will cause a crank no start situation if it's blown, so the same thing if it's unplugged.

Thieves know this and often carry an assortment of fuses.

I think the club thing is a fairly good deterrent, might make them move on to easier pray.

Even a dummy flashing LED might be enough for them to decide to move on.

If they are determined to get your particular truck, there is nothing that will stop them,
many just drag them off with a tow truck, defeating every known alarm.

I think it is fuse #9 in the cab. You can pull starter relays under the hood. The relays are all the same, so they could swap them, but it would take time to firgure and fix. Also pull the fuse for the brake lights under the hood. They probably won't notice and hopfully it will help the LEO pull them over just for that even if it has not been reported yet.

A hidden electrical Kill switch works well, If you cant crank it you can't take it (accept for the tow) Then you have to lock everything you can
brake,transmission ,crank the steering,lock the transfer case.Also a alarm
siren mounted under the dash inside the truck is very loud and really startles the crap out of anyone messing with your rig.not to mention DEAFENING.

Good advice, but as far as the radio goes....
My buddy had the crappiest CD player ever stolen out of his POS toyota wheeler one night! It was the kind where you had to push the CD in all the way, and flip a button to get it out. we're talking old as dirt!!

Lightbulb

This might save a few.
Should keep the rollbacks at bay too since it looks official.

I know people that have had tape players stolen.

My wife's Cherokee was broken into for a screwdriver...

Some scum will steal for the sake of it.

This is what I will eventually do. I read an article somewhere that explains a procedure on how to disable the fuel shutoff solenoid via a kill switch. If I can find it, I'll post it.

Why don't you just put in a kill switch for the ignition. Someone said it up top. Can't crank it can't take it away.

A simple process with a relay harness, philips screwdriver, wire cutters & strippers, black tape, 12V test light and a little patience. One more thing, two position toggle switch.
