temp guage

must be springtime, all sorts of odd stuff coming up.
this morning, truck fires up like normal ,i head out for work. i have about a 50 mile drive. in regular driving guage isnt showing over 150, on the highway portion doing about 75-80, spinning about 2100 rpm, slowly heads up to about 160-170. winter front still on, relatively warm morning, about 34 degrees out. was working fine last night, usually the guage runs dead in the middle about 190 all day.

could i have a stuck thermostat? what else would cause the guage to hang up like this?
