tailgate won't stay closed
To close my tailgate I must move the little leaver on each side , seems like they are sticking and the springs dont have enough force to close them , how does one get at it to put some lube in there or is there something else wrong. Thanks
Some spots can not be reached without disassembly , but 9 times out of 10 when a customer has had this issue , I could get it to work with a spray can of lube , with a straw to reach in deeper , also go in through handle area .
Once the latches are done up with lube, the closing bumpers inside the latch need some work. I tore mine out as the rubber gets so hard in the winter, I can't close my gate no matter how hard you slam it. ITs right were the latch rotates, you can see a rubber block inside that the latch is supposed to bump into to keep tight.

I tried the lube no workie , as soon as ya push the two leavers forward before ya close it , it locks fine , most trucks I have had ad a plate ya could take off to access the mechanism to work in it . It was doing it in warm weather as well. Too cold to go play with it now , I was hoping for an eazy fix.
