Stillnot happy with dodge truck
Not to complain but every time i use my truck something lets go. These trucks have great engines but the rest is crap. Today its stabilizer bar that broke. What next!!!
100K chassis/ 500K engine
They basicly took the gasoline chassis, put some heavier springs and dropped an engine that was close to 1000 pounds heavier in it.
Trust me, These trucks are great. I'm not knocking them. It all comes down to economics.

I'm pretty happy with mine - after 3.5 years and 100,000 km.
I replaced a bunch of stuff that the Previous Owner had let get out of controller (steering pieces, some u-joints, etc.) and since haven't found I've had to do more than you'd expect from any other vehicle - just regular maintenance and parts as they wear out. *shrug* I do most of the work myself, and don't end up having to spend much money to keep my truck running like a top.

I have owned trucks all my adult life other breands like ford , nissan, toyota's and i have never had to put so much repairs on a truck thats only got 113,000 km. THis Dodge is the worst i have had by far. i give it one last chance and then its off to try to trade it for another brand of truck prob toyota tundra but i heard they are good trucks but hard on gas.
Mine has been excellent ,over 130K miles, and few problems. It gets worked hard and overloaded constantly. A sway bar link should have been caught at inspection time, they dont just suddenly go bad, they clunk for a while, and if you dont replace them eventually they will fall out.Im sorry you had so many problems with your truck.

I bought a 01 ferd F-350 (sorry for the swear words) and I could not drive 5 miles down the road w/o breaking down...
RIGHT NOW there is a ton of junk out there with brand new everything...but its still junk cause they were flood victoms under water for a month....
BUT ,WOW they look nice
I have heavy horses...and can NOT aford to be sitting on the side of the road with 6,000 pounds of ticked off horse flesh in the trailer
thats why I bought a new one this time...sick and tired of 'everybody elses headachs' costing me and my farm $$$
Unless you bought your truck new you bought someone else's problem / neglected / abused truck.
215K miles on my "new Dodge" with just a few problems. Nothing that would not wear out on any other vehicle.

After many years of diesel trucks 2 months ago I bought a Chevy crew cab, I love the room, towed a 14ft enclosed trailer for 150 miles, did 7mpg
I sold it the next week, I didn't even had the title into my name yet !!!!!!
I had 1 Toyota Rav4 as wife's daily driver, what a POJ....sold it after 8 months to an unsuspecting buyer that had big hopes on Toyota brand, and I wished him good luck.
Had a Lexus ES300 6 years ago, I forgot a plastic funnel under the hood, closed it and ....bent the hood
.Let me tell you my personal experience with Jap brands is not good, people gets wrapped up into them since they paid so much they don't want to look like fools
when you find a rig that requires no maintenence please enlighten us. dodges are hard on steering parts and get a bad rap on vp44's. toyota has brake issues and quite a few ex manifolds don't last as long as a set of tires. chevy had the idler arm and 4x4 trucks that did not go into 4wd till the tow truck moved you a few feet. ford.....don't get me started. my wife had a new trailblazer that ended up going back on the lemon law after replacing 2 engines a tranny and a bunch of other stuff, her parents had the exact same rig, it now has 120k miles on it trouble free. there is always going to be trouble trucks.
I don't mind people's comments to my post thats what i wanted and it gives me courage to tought it out with dodge but i bought this truck with 50,000 miles on it so it was hardly high mileage and i had problems from the start. Air cond don.t work , heated seats don't work, cracked rims had to replaced the 4 of them, 2 seized calipers, stabilizer bar broken, front plastic bumper flew off, wiper motor to replace, sending unit in fuel tank replaced, but the cummins work A1.
My point about Jap cars/trucks is they are to my experience more reliable, i have driven a toyota truck to 242,000 km with no prob except regular maintenance. before that i had nissan 1/4 ton diesel i drove to 345,000 km same thing and also i had a nissan pulsar i took to 400,000 km ( 240,000 miles without swearing once.
Like i said when the dodge works good on rare occassion its funto drive but i don't recommend them to friends and it will be my last dodge product without a doubt.

Rick did you do a carfax on it before you bought it maybe you got a repaired wreck or stolen recovery? Hopefully you have gotten all the bugs worked out now. What ever you do stay away from the 6.4 SD or you very possibly will be thinking this dodge was the best truck you ever had when you see some of their issues. Yours does sound like more than normal problems for the lower miles on the truck.
This truck was just a regular used truck i bought. As far as the problems they are common problems i read about often on these dodge boards but my truck happens to have the problems i listed before .
The dealer seems to be not surprised at all when i mention a problem like the cracked rims and their response was we have a guy that welds them for us and he charges $ 70 each. i said never mind i'll go to a rim dealer and buy 4 new one that don't crack. When i got to the wheels dealer he said every week they get dodge 3/4 ton truck in there for rim replacement.
As far as other problems heated seat the dodge dealer said cheaper to buy seat covers, ( we sell nice ones) the plastic bumper cover ( bottom grey part) they said i picked up for nothing they sell the whole thing with new clamps approx price $ 500.
I gotta stop too depressing i am not a rich man ( i will never be)

Richard, dump the truck. Definitely you have one of the "lemons", and there's no need to keep spending money and grief over it, sell it on open market.
I would buy another if I was you, but I understand if you wouldn't , it's same situation for Toyota with me, I hate the darn things....
Sorry for your outcome, I truly say you had very tough luck.
