Talking Steering wonders

I have a 2001 4X4 long bed. Ever since I drove it off the showroom floor it wonders. I have been through two steering boxes. Changed everything from the stabilizer to all the joints, except ball joints. Installed the steering stabilizer mod. along with the kit to install the 03 track bar. I have had it to the alignment shop. Changed tires. Nothing has really helped. It does not have hardly any play. No abnormal tire wear. You constantly have to correct the stering to the left and then to the right.
Love the truck except this drives me crazy.
Anyone have the majic pill to corect this other than shooting the enginer who designed it?

Increase the axle castor in the alignment. the front end needs more castor to decrease the oversteering you are experiencing. My truck handled the same way, constantly correcting the steering.

You can do in the driveway and find were drives the best. I've had mine aligned and changed it in the driveway the next day.

There's a wealth of information on here about castor adjustments.

you should also look at putting a 3 turn streeing box, several people on here have done that and say it cured their wonder problems. I plan to do it myself soon.

You can get one from www.powersteering.com just call and tell them whats going on.

Are you sure it is not in the steering column or steering shaft. I just put a borgesen steering shaft in my 02 and it took a lot of the slop out of the front end.

Get the new adjustable lower control arms from www.solidsteel.biz and set the castor at +5, Tommy93W350 is right on the money.

Yes but it fixed mine like 100%,no more death wobble either, I dont know if one can get +5 caster on the original control arms or not, usually their so rusted in they have to be cut out with the liquid wrench although when i did mine(30000 miles ago) the original bolts came right out and I reused them, I had a 12000 miles on at the time, but it was money well spent.
