Steering column short

I had the ignition short out in the column this weekend on my 02 3500. I was driving and I lost the gauge cluster and the engine died. If I pushed down on steering wheel with it tilted all the way down it would start working again. I didn't want to chance driving it so I had it towed to the dealer(still under warrenty 30K). I had the horn wire break in the column last year so I wondering if the problems are related . Any one else have similar issues?

Maybe they can get rid of my door lock gremlins this time (randomly locks and unlocks door while driving, but very intermitantly).

It's a somewhat common problem. Either Dodge got cheap with the length of wire or it isn't routed correctly. Whatever it is on some rigs the wire is too tight and tilting the steering wheel up either pulls the connector apart or pulls wires out of the connector.
