I've had the Borgeson steering shaft in for 6 years now, I've have the "clunk" noticeable at low speed turning, not the rattle as described. IMHO, the money spent on the Borgeson didn't seem to improve any steering issues that I've ever had. But I do lug around an almost 900 lb. snow plow in the winter. It may be an assest for me in that respect. Darin's steering stabilizer has been far the most noticeable improvement in steering. And recently I've installed a Thuren track bar, along with Maxx Link front sway bar links, and handling of the truck is almost like new, with 205K on the clock.

Have you ever replaced the steering damper/stabilizer? Information I've read on this thing, is that a worn one can transmit vibrations, etc. to the steering wheel. That's one of the things on my list to replace, but may go to the HD T-style steering linkage instead, that's another subject post in this forum.

And just food for thought on the Rocksolidram fix, I wonder it this affects the steering column's ability to collapse in the unlikely(hopefully) event of a frontal impact collision? I remember the first fatal head-on crash I went to involved a 1967 chev pickup, where the steering column pushed the victim up into the cab roof. 1968 and later year models were required to have collapsable steering columns. It's one of those things that stays in the back of my mind.
