Source for door panel retainer clips?
Just replaced all of my speakers and my headunit. The FSM helped me do it without re-wiring anything even with the Infinity mess of a wiring configuration. Problem is now I'm driving around with no door panels, can't roll down my window, no power locks, etc. The door clips are supposed to be disposable, but Dodge wants $1.50 each for them. The car parts stores are surprisingly not much better @ $2.79+ tax for a 3 pack and no store has more than 2 packs. They have 15 packs for $3 dollars for FORD and GM but not Chrysler... I didn't countall the holes but I believe I need about 45 of them to be safe.
At $1.50 a piece, I can almost rationalize getting those new towing mirrors NOW and putting them on while the stupid doors are open
I managed to only break one piece of the one of the door panels when I was taking it off with my Mopar approved "special door panel retainer removal tool" i.e. big screwdriver and prying it the heck off.

I have had all my pannels off many times and just reuse the old clips untill they dont hold any more, then just replace the ones that dont hold or break How do you like the upgrade?

ratsun I'd like to know how you did that. I did everything I could when removing the door panels on my '01 and ended up destroying all but a couple mount clips. NJoverkill & I would make quite a door panel removal team
The panels on the 3rd Gen trucks are a dream to remove in comparison. 3 screws, unbolt the door handle, unscrew the lock ****, simply lift panel free, unplug harnesses, you're done!

Not sure I just used the door clip removal tool and ......
In all, I have only broke 2 and had maybe the same # not hold so good.
However they come out easier each time I pull the panels. The clip remover just looks like a bent flat blade (blade 1"wide) screwdriver that has a cut out in the blade that slides under the head of the clip and levers it out.

that's the tool I use to remove my door panel and I reused most clips...................I've had them off several times and broke a couple clips so I bought a 10 pack to replace any clips

Ah maybe I'll buy that tool too while I'm at it. See, I destroyed ALL of the clips, and one of them broke off part of the door instead of the clip. Nice.

Personally I haven't found a clip tool that works real well. Most of them scratch the paint or dent the door as you are trying to pry those little suckers off. The clip holders on the door panel often break too. I use my soldering iron to "weld" the pieces back in place.

Once I get the clip tool in place I slide a 4"steel scraper between it and the steel panel and it stops any scratchig or denting.

The clips are almost identical to the standoff I used to use in building computers. The plastic stand-offs that held the motherboard to the case.
You could always check a local computer store that builds there own machines. Normally there is twice as many in a case than you need for the board.
