Service Manuals

Gentlemen,
I'm looking for the service manual for my truck. What I'm looking for is direction and illustrations to assist me in maintaining my truck. (I need as many pictures as possible ). Such as transfer case fluid changes, transmission fluid changes and filter, etc. I couldn't find a Chilton's book for my truck. The service manuals from the dealer are $110.00. Yikes! Give me your thoughts. Adios. Love my Cummins. 8)

Re:Service Manuals

You can probably find a Haynes book at your local auto parts store. If not, Geno's has them HERE
I haven't looked at one, but it should have most of the basic stuff in it.

Hi Jones0027,

If you don't mind using your computer, you can purchase a CD online at Ebay for the 2002 CTD. It was $10.00 plus an additional $3.00 for shipping. I just finished ordering one. I believe it also had the 3500 information on it.

Re:Service Manuals

AutoZone has them for around 13 or 14 dollars if you want to satisfy that "Instant Gratification" need that most of us have.

www.techauthority.com
The factory manual is more expensive than the "Auto Parts Store" variety, cuz it's worth it.

Much more info, torque specs, better wiring diagrams, exploded views, and step by step procedures.

Worth every penny I paid for it. ;D

Check Ebay, you can find them there too a little cheaper.

Re:Service Manuals

I agree on the Haynes for a starter manual to get by with till you run across a nice factory one on ebay or someone sells thiers after upgrading to a newer truck. I did and I use the haynes all the time,it is good for your usual do it yourself maintanace, capacitys, torque values, etc. Goodluck Rick

Re:Service Manuals

I agree with Nail Bender and Shovelhead. The only thing I would add is check the prices at www.techauthority.com
first. I watched ebay for awhile and saw them go for as much or more than they cost new from www.techauthority.com ???

Re:Service Manuals

I have both the factory manual and the Haynes manual. I now keep the hanes manual in the bathroom in case I run out of the other paper. You have spent a lot of money for a good truck so now spend a little more for the manual to get the best info. You won't regret it.

Re:Service Manuals

I have factory Service Manuals (2 volume set, about 4" thick), well worth it.

Re:Service Manuals

Chrysler Canada quoted me $90CAN for a factory service manual. That's $69US today. The phone # is 1-800-387-1143.
