Question Seat conversion

Has anyone ever converted their 40/20/40 bench seat for a set of seats (like captains chairs)? I wouldn't mind opening up the space between the two front seats.

Nobody has ever done anything like this?

I know a few have installed the air ride suspensions, but no-one has installed captains chairs?

Just remove the center seat. I thought about doing it but on long trips I find the seat back folded down gives me an arm rest so I left it in.

Having the seat belts come out of the seats is a real problem and limits aftermarket seat choices.

That being said, I sure would like to do a set of air ride seats. Has anyone done them?

What about the full size Ram vans Dodge use to make? I wonder if the front seats would fit in our Ram trucks?

Grammer makes some air ride seats for big trucks with integrated seatbelts. Looking at the dimensions, I believe you could make them work. I have seen them put in pickups that did not need integrated belts, but the ones that have them could probably be made to work....

Heres an example. http://www.grammer.com/english/lkw_arizona/

Air ride seats are great, but when the road gets bumpy, you can get a whole lot of vertical movement. I'd be concerned about head clearance.

I smoked my head on the roof of a small daycab semi coming up #2 under Ellerslie when that retardedly large bump was still there, and there was a fair amount more head clearance in that truck.

Of course, overall I'm a huge fan of air ride seats... does anyone make one particularly suitable to low clearance situations (perhaps with a shock absorber as well as the air balloon)?
