Reunel Is On

For those that remember about 4 months ago I got nailed by two cars in an intersection. Well my truck is finally back together, I had a 2 month run around with the Spankys Brush Push bumper, Rod at Wildcat did all that he could but Spanky just would not deliver. Rod's a great guy though and I hope to order some "instock" items from him in the near future.
I ordered from Reunel, they where my first choice but at the time of the wreck they had a 10 week lead time and Spanky's was suppose to be 2 weeks.......
Any ways the Reunel is a work of steel "art" and they where great to deal with. Worth the wait and cost as far as I'm concerned.
I'll post a before and after pic.
The Reunel was a great choice, salvo. Looks great. Bet you had a workout lifting it into position. I used a floor jack to lift my rear into place.

Re:Reunel Is On

Thanks Commatoze, I did it with a cheri picker, put a strap on the top cross bar, jacked it up and had my daughter hold it straight and I drove right up to it, other than that it was a one man operation!
Reunel was closed today, no instructions at all. I wonder if you happen to know the proper torqe spec# on those bolts? They also left out the little conversion parts for the factory fog lights, I just stuck them in place for the picture
Wish I could have ordered a rear bumper to save on shipping, cause I know I will be getting one sooner or later.

What's the status of Spanky's bumpers?
Time is close for me to start considering, was going to go with Spanky, but can't find anything on the Wildcat site anymore?
Is he still making them?
Might have to give Lane at DOR a call, as he is my 2nd choice
(actually 1st choice till the BushPush came around, then 2nd)

I'd still like to give Rod some business.

thanx

phox,

If you're considering a DOR, better give Layne a call now because he's working on Dodge bumpers now and builds them as a lot. He seems to alternate between Ford's and Dodge's.

Re:Reunel Is On

Rod pulled all adds for the Spankys bumper, he was more upset about it than I was, I dont think Rod would have any thing to do with that outfit again, but who knows? give Rod a call, he really is a stand up guy.
Commatoze is right, If the Steel Reunel bumber is not your first choice Denver Off Road's aluminum bumpers should be about ready for Dodge Orders, I talked to them too, Reunel was the fastest I could find at the time I cancelled the Spanky's order. I sure like the Reunel though and my truck seems just as level as it was before the bumper and if you can believe it the freeway bounce is all but gone. With a winch installed it will probably drop a bit then.

Re:Reunel Is On

www.reunel.com and www.denveroffroad.com I believe that the prices are listed on the Reunel site. A DOR Bumper is around $1600 plus shipping, and there are no options except paint; black or clear powder coat. Layne builds them only one way.

Re:Reunel Is On

No rear bumper yet. I really like the bumper, the front springs did settle a little, I would guess an inch. I have the 2" leveling spacers when I add the wench I'll get the 2" Skyjacker spring kit and use the spacers also, that should level it out again.
It really changed the look of the truck, I have never had so many questions and complements before. I am a ham and have a few antennas on the truck people think I'm search and rescue or somthing.

Re:Reunel Is On

Does anyone know is Reunel will make the grill gaurd and wrap arounds in Stainless Steel and then paint the rest of the bumper to match? I'm considering getting one this summer but would like to have a touch of SS on the front to match my grill.

I've wanted one of those Reunel's since I bought my truck, and this summer looks like I finally can buy one. 8)

Re:Reunel Is On

I know you can get the complete Reunel bumper made from stainless, but I dont know about getting the lower half painted.

If you plan to go that way, be ready to spend lots of $$$ if I remeber correctly, a complete stainless front is over $3000.
