Removing the Pitman arm

I have alot of play in my pitman arm and am going to replace it. I believe that Infidel had an easy trick for separating ball joints and such without using a press. I can't seem to find that post.
Anyone know the trick or can you point me to the post?

I just put my PSC steering box on. I dont know if everyone elses was like mine, but it took a 20 ton press and ALOT of oxy/acetylene.
I had the thing glowing with the press on her and it popped so loud my Brothers girlfriend came out of the house, she thought something blew up in the garage.

The trick is to hit both sides of the joint at the same time, a hand sledge in each hand.

Even a standard pitman arm puller wont do the job? Those are fairly stout..
You can rebuild that pitman with a lukes link, good as new.
