Rear Discs on my '95

I just found a complete Dana 70 2002 disc brake rear end for $650. So I got that puppy. I'll let you all know when I get it in and operating.

Well about 5 months ago I bought a 47RH dipstick from a guy who salvages out Dodge Cummins trucks. I happened to think about him while I was trying to get a conversion set-up for my truck, and I called him and asked. Yep, he had a good 3.54 Dana 70!

Could be wrong but that sure looks like the rear end for a 3500.

Ouch. Hope not. But I have no idea what a 3500 disc-brake rear-end looks like in comparison to a 2500. But that's why I posted the picture, so I could get some feedback.

If someone could post a picture of a rear rotor for either a 2500 or a 3500 I bet we could figure out which this is.

edit: Well maybe not. More than a few sellers on ebay list a single rotor for the rear for both 2500 and 3500 trucks.

Like this: "This item is a brand new OEM style replacement set of rear rotors & brake pads for:
* 2001-2002 Dodge Ram Pick Up 2500 , 3500 , 2 or 4 Wheel drive all models."

Here is the listing:

To further confuse the issue, take a look at this ebay listing for a "new" Dana 70. Is this one a Dually rear-end?

That looks like a SRW axle to me- the hub is deep, but that probably compensates for the normal thickness of a drum. And, the wheel studs don't look long enough for dual wheels.

Hodge, are you talking about the one I bought--the one in my picture? Or the one I linked to in the post right before yours?

When I look at the pictures of the one I bought and the "new Dana 70" on ebay it looks to me like mine is a SRW and the "New Dana 70" is a Dually. I'm going on length of wheel studs and also the length of the axle housing.

Anybody agree or disagree?

I agree. My dually (drum setup) has long studs just as the "new dana 70 rearend." I can't tell you that I'm 100% positive though.

I thought the 3500 DRW trucks got the Dana 80.

I'm pretty sure I read that, too. I think it was on CF someone was askin abt converting SRW to a dually, someone also mantioned something abt the dually axle being about 4" wider than a SRW axle, that'd be the easiest way to tell which is which
