I got a white quad cab shorty that needs body work but Im thinkin it might just be cheaper to find a 1/2 ton QC and switch bodies...that can be done right?

It would be nice to find a exact donor but probablly impossible. If I recall the 01 1500 has a different cab. So go back to 2000 or 99 to get assembly. You will have to change the wiring amoung other things. Keep your serial number plate or eventually you will be up a creek on title.

 

The body change didn't happen till 02, the 3/4 and 1-tons stayed the same in 02. You will need to find a 99, 00, 01, 1/2 ton to work for your swap.

 

How hard would it be to put a 3rd gen bodyQC on a second gen truck? Or is even do-able? I actually like my drivetrain with an improved lift pump.

I think this is one of those "If you have to ask, you can't do it" sort of questions.

Anything is possible. Is it a bolt on, no. Is it easy, no. Is it cost effective, no. But its possible.

 

true. anybody know if anyones put a 12v in a third gen?
