I am having a lot of difficulty trying to replace my cam shaft positioning sensor on my '01. Tried coming in from the top and bottom with no luck. I can't even tell what kind of bolt it is. Looks like a star head or an allen. Any tips?

 

I think it's a 5mm allen. Hopefully someone will chime in to be sure. When I did mine, I removed the bolt from the bottom then went up top to remove the sensor itself. A second set of eyes makes things ten times easier and if you have big hands you might be up a creek! I was barely able to get my hand down there and then twist my wrist around into positions it wasn't meant for! Maybe some long handled needle nose pliers would help? Also, make sure to lube the oring on the new sensor, it is a very tight fit! Good luck!
