preformed hard brake lines

Does anyone know of a source for preformed hard brake lines? I need to replace the hard lines to each rear wheel and havent found the preformed lines anyplace yet.

Thanks for the help.

The preformed lines are pretty expensive when I priced them out. I ended up making the bends to match the stock one and tweaking it a little to fit.

Thats what I figured I was going to end up doing. The ones in the back have lots of things they need to clear. Should be fun!

Thanks!

The back ones werent bad so long as you got a good long piece of tubing and allowed extra length for the take-up on all the bends.
Take the stock line off as a whole and duplicate the bends.

AFAIK no one makes preformed - talked to 2 dealers last summer when I needed to do mine and they both said none were available- the mechanics just bent up lines as needed. No company online had a listing for us either- I just bought a coil of coated line and made my own- not too tough. Watch where the line crosses over the frame rail up front- too long and it interferes with the shift linkage in an auto.
Also- may want to consider doing your fuel lines too- if the brake line is bad, the fuel line will be going soon. I was pressed for time and skipped my fuel lines which started leaking immediately after reassembly because of the handling during the brake work. Factory has fuel lines available.

Man, i swear I read a thread on here where you could buy preformed brake lines for our trucks..........but I can't find it right now.

I will keep looking, because sooner or later I will be in the same boat.

Anybody else remember it? Had to be last winter sometime.

hello
i can get you the lines from my dealership , if you get me a pm with the last nine of the vin i can get you price and insure that i get the right ones , i think they run around $50 for the ones on the rear axle and you can also get the front one that runs to the passenger side, a lot of dealerships wont even look up the lines for some reason, i had to make my own to when i did mine till i got to the parts computer and checked for myself one day.

let me know

if you guys make your own brake lines, be aware that they have to be double flared.... http://robrobinette.com/flare_brake_line.htm or http://www.stu-offroad.com/suspensio...etool/ft-1.htm

Thanks for all the information. I will just make my own. I have made the other hard lines for the rest of the truck. I was just wanting to do this a little faster and have the lines with the wound armour on them. I'll let oyu know how it goes.

Thanks again!

I put weed eater line in the tubing and just bend by hand works great on small diamater tubing. For larger size fill the tube with fine sand.

I bought straight sections with ends & fittings allready on then after bending split some old fuel line over the spots that could rub.

They didn't list them when I was looking - but for $200, making my own was a better option anyway.

I got the new wheel cylinders installed this weekend and only had to manufacture one hard line. I used the weedeater line trick that was suggested and and bent the tubing around a piece fo 1/2" pipe in my vise. Worked great. I padded the hard line where it ran over the axle housing and all is working fine.

Thanks for all of the tips and help. More dollars saved that will go in the tank.
