Power steering or lack there of
Power steering or lack there of
What's the deal with the power steering or lack there of? Anyone have or having any problems with theirs? The fluid is good. It's really bad when I first start up after sitting for a while. If this keeps up I'll have arms like Popeye the sailor. As always any and all thoughts would be greatful.

Re:Power steering or lack there of
I had problems with mine about a year ago, the unit went south. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the power steering unit under the 36 K warranty. Now over 56 K, so now I'm on my own!!!

When it gets below 20 degrees, the power steering unit takes a few minutes (maybe 5) until the fluid begins to flow and lubricate properly. Probably good idea to let warm up (when it's cold) before driving for about 5 minutes or so.

Good luck!!!

I use the Valvoline semi-synthetic in mine. The fluid is clear as water. Mine was never hard to turn, just a whine in the mornings. Since I've been usiing the other fluid its runs like a top. No more squeeling! I also drain the fluid ever 10 - 15k miles.
