Pitted Paint
When I bought my truck, I noticed there were deep (to the metal) spots splatterd all over the rear drivers side. I asked him, and he said he drove through concrete? He said it splashed up and it pitted the paint! Do you think concrete could do that? What can I do to help it? Besides a new paint job Look in my profile for a picture of it.

You might want to try some touch up paint from a local auto parts store. I've never tried the stuff myself, but you could try a search and see what pops up. My guess, if you're that uphappy with it, then its probbaly best to do a full paint job. Not the cheapest way to do, but obvious the best. If it were my truck, then I would just leave it and say that it adds character to the truck. Some are more picky than I. Keep on keepin on.

Almost sounds like the beginning stages of the notorious Chrysler peeling paint problem. I had to have both my '95s stripped down to bare metal and repainted, Chrysler paid, but I've heard they are making it tough now.

I took a look and Im not sure anything will help besides a new paint job. Is it like this all over your truck or just in this section.
Could you get away with just repainting that side of the bed?

No, its just that side of the bed. The truck has some other scratches, (some worse than others) on it as well. But you have to take into consideration, it is a 95 work truck. I will see how it goes. It isnt rusting or peeling yet, so I will give it a while. I have more thing to worry about and get besides that.

Is it to bare metal, or just to the galvanized coating? If it is just to the coating, it will last a long time. Look at an old Gleaner combine. No paint, just galvanized steel. Lasts a long time.
Me personally, I would just get some touch up paint so it isn't as noticeable. Or put a flatbed on it.
