Passanger side fender liner removal?
Passanger side fender liner removal?
Hello all, I need to remove the passanger side inner fender lining (the large black plastic piece) as I need to replace the antenna base and the first section of cable. The first question is: How does one remove the liner? The connectors are not a type I am familar with, and I want it to go back together as it came apart.
Secondly, as anyone replaced the lower antenna mast mount/cable previously? The cable, much to my suprise, is only about 1/2 length, and it will screw into a second piece of cable that runs up to the radio. I have found the cable under the glove box where it is routed. Any other comments/suggestions? Thanks in advance--by the way, it's a '96 truck.

The liners are easy to remove and replace. The one thing I would reccomend it to put different retainers in it. The kind you have should be plastic rivets which loosen with time and can not be tightened. I would try and get some spreading type fasteners (a two piece clip that spreads as you push the center through). Also I believe you can get to the antenna from the top side of the fender from the inside by the hinge. Be careful to not drop the cable as you will then have to take the liner out. Good luck...
