I have a 2001 and its throwing up codes p-1693 and p-0523.

 

1693=cleared companion/JTEC
0523 = oil pressure circut high
that's for my 98.5-99 I think they are the same for 01 but I might be wrong

 

Probably the oil sending unit. Not unusual for them to go bad. Is your gage acting squirrly or not moving?

The best way to change it is with a LONG extension above the drivers side tire. 1 1/4 socket, I think.

Hey, Thanks! The oil pressure gauge has been reading high lately. Does the 1693 code have to do with that also or could that be a seperate problem?

 

1693 is the code telling you there is a code.

We have two main computers, the ECM for the Cummins and the PCM for the Dodge,
and often they don't communicate well, thus the 1693.
