OK folks,

This is not serious but how do you replace the sunglass holder in the overhead console. I have had the new door for it for about 6 months but have yet to figure out how to change it. I also do not know how to change the dome lights and map lights. There has to be a secret to this.

I am starting to drive down the street while staring up at it wondering if they used super glue or nails to hold it in place. ??? This cannot be safe.

I know I will find out how to do it now since I have tapped the tree of knowledge.

I cant tell you how to replace it but can you give me a part number for that sunglasses door. Need to get one myself

 

what year truck do you have?
my 95 has 2 screws that hold it up.. so i guessing that we dont have the same year..
pretty smart hun...

 

Loosen up the two screws, then slide the entire console forwards or backwards(I don't recall which specific direction).

Unplug the electronics and you should be able to do any repairs in the comfort and well lit area of your choosing.

aarc--belay that--if you put your model and yr of vehicle on your signature. My 2001 just has a small plastic clip that you squeeze, then slide. NO SCREWS. Sorry for the false info.

The clip is under one of the compartments

 

aarc-- The clips on my 01 are inside the compartment that would hide your garage door opener. Just push them forward with your finger, you will feel the console loosen, then slide off. Unplug and remove.

PS You will not lose any information stored ;D
