New ignition, still intermittent starting

1996 2500 125,000mi. When turning the key I have power to everything until I start to turn it over then nothing. I does work intermittently and seems to have a sweet spot. I replaced the the ignition in the steering column and it improved, but still has the issue. Thanks

Not yet, that's my afternoon project tomorrow. I just found it a little strange it got better with the new ignition. Thought it may have been a relay.

I see that you are new to the forum. If you haven't already read about the larger starter contacts. Will last much longer than the stock ones.

Probably not related but.....on my first gen it developed a similar issue. If the steering wheel was all the way up it would not start. Lower the wheel and all was well. Bad wires in the column is all I could figure.

When you plugged in the new ignition switch, did you have a good look at the connector to make sure all the terminals fit the pins snugly, and that there were no signs of overheating?
