Need Help with Headlights

Hey guys my fathers truck is an 02 2500 CTD and recently the headlights have been acting up on it. Switching from highbeam to lowbeam the headlights occasionally go out altogether. In which case you have to hit them again switching the highbeams back on and try it again. Never happens from low to high. Makes for an iteresting ride to say the least. Is it just the switch in the column or something else? Thanks for the help.

test the switch. If bad, perhaps contacts can be cleaned. You'll have to search &/or experiment.

Sounds like maybe the multipurpose switch. Try squirting some electrical contact cleaner in there.

as said above. clean the switch if you can then see if the symptoms persist. it's a good spot to start troubleshooting
