My trim is fading!
My trim is fading!
The trim on my truck is fading its just not very black anymore. Anyone know of a way to paint or do something to get the plastic trim as in side trim, Mirrors, door handles and the plastic pieces on the top and bottom of the front bumper and the rear bumper. Thanks for any advice you have guys.
Turtle wax makes a polish that you can use on the entire truck that won't leave wax "chalk" on the vinyl parts that actually shines the vinyl pretty well. I think it is part of their ICE products.
Hope that helps

i put tire shine junk on mine and they look freakin brand new. the black on my bumper was gray and is now dark black. i will look at what brand it is tomorrow. need to keep up with the applications but each time it fades less and less. i have a black truck so it gets washed a lot so everytime i wash it, it gets another coat of the stuff.
Car detailers trick, should work on body moldings, Black liquid shoe polish, like scuff coat or scuff magic, an application with the foam applicator lasts a long time. Dosen't hurt anything only collored wax. Works good for black rubber sunroof/window seals etc that have weathered to grey. I don't think I'd try it on the bumper moldings too big might look 'streaky'. Hope this helps.
Mothers makes a product for this. I believe its called "Back to Black". You put it on there and it does bring back the nice blacks for a while. You have to re-apply it from time to time. I used it on a motorcycle that sat out most all its life, and on my truck with good results
