Lukes Link or ? Need to clear up ?'s
I really need to clear up this front end. It is sloppy and drives like crap.
I changed out the steering box because of premature failure of pitman bearing pinion. It help alot but not there yet.
So my ? is:
Will the Lukes Link really help my worn Trackbar from moving at the frame side?
Is it bettter if I buy a new one and then add LL?
How much is a 3rd Gen one that I have been reading about here? All in all?
All my ball joints and tie rods are good, should I also buy the steering box brace and do the fix for the trackbar?
I feel like the steering it self is to soft feeling. Will the Bushing on the steering colunm reall help? The shaft has no play though.
Sorry so long but real frustrated with this issue.
Seems like every week I'm adding more$ to this truck but dont want to get rid of it an get into payments!!!!!!!!!!(VP44,Airdog LP, Fuel Injectors,All Bilstein shocks and steering stabilizer, now tracbar and steering reienforce ment items!! where does it stop??)
Thanks for letting me VENT!!!!!!!!
Now can I get some input on the steering woes...Thks T

If you put on a new steering box, adding a brace to it will prolong its life. They are relatively cheap and easy to install so it is worth it.
As far as your track bar is concerned, there are people who have reported good success with using a luke's link but people who use their trucks hard(plowing, bad roads, etc) find that they don't hold up. If you are someone who falls into this category, the best bang for your buck is probably a thuren track bar since it is inexpensive and super easy to install. You could also do a 3rd gen conversion.
While it hurts now, if you do the brace and track bar, you will prolong the life of the rest of your front end.

Did the Lukes Link foe a while and it worked fine. I had a couple of extra bucks and went with the SS Adjustable Trackbar, just because it's what I wanted to do from the start, and I absolutely love it! They are both good products but I would go with the Trackbar upgrade.
