Lower mounting sleeve on front Rancho 9000 worn?
After 3 years and 20,000 miles? Granted they performs severe duty. But yesterday I was in spraying down my adjuster ***** (still work!!) and was adjusting them from 7 to 5 on the front. I noticed as I grabbed the **** with my pliers and started to move it, there was slight but certainly noticeable rotational movement by the bottom of the shock about it's mounting point. Didn't seem to be the rubber bushing was moving but that the shock was moving on the metal sleeve that the bolt runs thru? I do hear a bit of clunking from the DS front on bumps.

I pulled the lower bolt last weekend and while the bolt seemed fine with no signs of wear, it was loose in the sleeve for sure. I reinstalled and tightened, also took a couple turns on the other side to snug up. Noise is gone. Yes, replacement is in the offing. Don't know if it'll happen this year tho.

When I installed the correct part # 9000's in the front of my 98.5, the factory installed steel sleeves in the bushings were the wrong size for the mounting bolts....the ID was one size too large. Other sleeves sizes with a smaller ID were included in a plastic package that I had to install to get a proper fit. Just thought I would throw that out there. I could see how the wrong sized sleeves could easily get accidently used.
