Looking for the impossible truck

I am still looking for a 12 valve 2500 ext cab 4x4 shortbox. Did they make this truck only in 98? I have not seen any 94 - 97's with a short bed. I found a 95 long bed that looks pretty good but really want a short box. Seller says the 95 has had a rebuilt auto trans done at 83k and the truck now has 98k miles. Also new starter, new ECM and new TPS within the last year. What is the ECM and TPS? Sorry still a little green on the lingo. They are asking $11,900. is there anything I should know about the 95's?

Thanks...

Did they come in any other form? I would love to snag a 3500 4x4 quad 12V. Or is it better chances to win the lottery??

You stand a better chance finding the 3500 4x4 quad with the undervalved engine. I've seen quite a few of those.

yeah, 12V duallys seem to be more abundant - probably harder to find a 3/4T.....the shortboxes are the hardest to find.

VIN is 3B7KF22D4WG132105 8th letter is a D. I think that means it's 12v. It's on the east coast which is a little to far for me to go for a truck.

Believe me, just because it says it's a 24V in the description doesn't mean it is.

I went to look at a '98 24V, got there and was a HAMMERED '97 12 V.

Once drove like 2 1/2 hours to look at a F350 PSD dually for my dad, was supposed to be 4x4, get there. 2x4

Same deal, except this time Chryslerdealer. 2+ hours away, ask the salesman, twice if it is 4x4!! 98 12 V, get there, 2x4.

How hard is that to figure out??

The messed up thing about ebay, when you list a 98 the only diesel choice in their description menu is a 24v. The VIN has a D...it's a 12v

The shortbed diesel came out in '98. There were no SB diesel ext cabs in 95-97, only gas pigs.
Also when the 98's first came out, they were clubcabs not quadcabs. Quads didn't kick in till a couple months later. So looking for a 12v quadcab is going to take time. A 5spd 12v has a bigger injection pump than the auto's, and those are even harder to find, autos are more plentiful.

Look at the VIN number. Unless he is lying about the VIN, its a 12valve.

8th digit:
D=12v
6=24v
