Longbed conversion

Anyone have any links to conversion write ups or advise for my short bed to long bed conversion? I am ready to start on this but would like some info.

Heres what I know:
I will need to extend brake and fuel lines, driveshaft and obviously a new bed.

How many inches of steel will need to be added exactly and whats the best place to do this?

I'm still in the thought process mode but am considering a similar feat...adding about 6-12" to the back of the cab. It would include probably all the same cuts as you'll do plus cutting the cab. I'm thinking 2nd gen mega-cab design as the back seating is pretty much useless unless your very short or a kid. I would focus on the frame cut as this is going to be the most critical point. The truck will probaby have to be on a frame alignment machine then box the frame back together w/probably 6-8" square tubing by sliding the frame inside the tube and then square up and weld. I think the elec/fuel lines would be the easy part plus I'll have to chop the cab, extend and weld back and paint and....the list goes on.

How about we trade beds and whatever length of frame I cut you can weld in then I would have the swb ext cab I want. To start find a lwb truck the same year as yours and look on the sticker on the door for the wheel base. Subtract your wheel base from that wheelbase and thats the amount you need to add.You can compare the two frames and see where the LWB has more frame.
